Radiation control installations

As part of a joint project of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the State Border Committee and the Department of Energy of the United States of America, checkpoints on the Belarusian border are being equipped with a radiation monitoring system.

The main feature of the installed new systems is the presence in them, along with portal radiation monitors (gates) for monitoring cars and trucks, as well as special monitors (gates) for monitoring citizens crossing the border on foot and their hand luggage.

Together with the equipment, a video surveillance system is used and a special workstation for the operator is equipped, which increases the efficiency of solving problems of preventing the illegal movement of nuclear and radioactive materials across the customs border of the European Economic Union.
